Need a photographer for your small, micro or last-minute wedding?

If your wedding is small, niche, or you’re looking for a photographer last minute and don’t have a huge budget, you don’t have to compromise on beautiful wedding photography.

Since I stopped shooting very large weddings a few years ago, I’ve had people try and twist my arm to make an exception. Could I come out of retirement for a day? It would only be this once, as they weren’t planning on doing it again!

For the most part I resisted, wanting to focus on portraits and to build up my sister business, A Northern Heart. All day wedding photography packages are a huge undertaking, and there are squillions of wedding photographers out there, many of whom are my friends and peers (and are absolutely brilliant, if that’s the vibe you’re looking for).

But then I got an enquiry from a couple who were getting married last minute, and wanted a lovely record of the day but without the full ‘wedding photo shebang’. They wanted their intimate, spontaneous, winter wedding photographed event-style, with the option of paying an hourly rate that was affordable to them. My gut feeling was to take the job and tentatively dip my toe back into the world of wedding photography - and I’m SO glad I did. Not only were the bride and groom and their families absolutely golden, but it opened up the seed of a new idea for me - what if wedding photography didn’t have to be a huge event? What if some people just want nice photographs to tell the story of their day without the pressure of posing for endless portraits and group shots?

Having thoroughly enjoyed that small winter wedding, where over four hours I captured the ceremony, the reception, the confetti throw, the family photos, the speeches and plenty of relaxed documentary style images, I made my mind up; I was in for more of the same!

And so that brings me to my new offer for couples looking for a non-traditional wedding photography package - I’m all yours for four hours, there to capture the action, the sentiment, the arrival, the parents, and the bride and groom - but without the need to have me there right from start to finish. The four hours can be weighted towards the start of the day or from the ceremony onwards - it’s completely your decision.

To reflect my experience and the time spent shooting and editing, this special micro wedding photography package is priced at £950. My photography playground is generally Yorkshire (particularly West Yorkshire) with a focus on Leeds, Bradford, Ilkley, Otley, Halifax, Saltaire, Keighley and Skipton, however I’m happy to discuss travelling further afield if we’re a good match!

If you’d like to find out more see the Wedding Photography Services page, or to check availability and booking for your micro or spontaneous wedding, get in touch and let’s have a chat.
